I kept coming back to a photograph of my daughter after ballet class. She stood grounded and at ease—shoulders soft, hands open, posture steady without tension. I saw a quiet kind of strength in her stillness, a physical expression of inner balance. I wanted to hold that essence in sculpture. I exaggerated the proportions—broadening the torso and lengthening the limbs while keeping the head smaller—to give her presence and strength a greater physical weight.
