This piece was inspired by a candid photograph of myself mid-laugh, reimagined with a sense of whimsy and humor. The lifted face and open posture retain the energy of the original laugh, but the added playful elements exaggerate and expand it, as if the laughter has taken on a life of its own, amplifying the spirit of the moment.

A play on “Mother Earth,” this work is a reminder that joy, like the natural world, is cyclical, grounding, and alive.

Mother Mirth was inspired by the pure joy of laughter.
